Earl Elwood Johnson, age 84, of Huntingburg, passed away at 2:18 p.m.,Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

Earl JohnsonHe was born July 31, 1931 in Huntingburg, Indiana, to Oscar Thomas and Mary (Rikard) Johnson.  He married Elizabeth A. Hartwick on December 17, 1989 in Huntingburg.  Mr. Johnson was a furniture factory worker; member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Holland; and enjoyed fishing.  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elizabeth A. Johnson, who died March 31, 2011; and one sister, Mary Alice Lemond.

He is survived by:

One son,

Daniel (Betty) Johnson of Jasper, Ind.;

One daughter,

Debbie (Brad) Blume of Shiloh, Illinois;

Two stepdaughters,

Amy (Monte) Kelley of St. Meinrad, Ind.,

Ellen (Matthew) Corn of Petersburg, Ind.;

One stepson,

Jim (Tammy) Staats of Evansville, Ind.;

Two sisters,

Anna Mae Benning of Huntingburg, Ind.,

Sharron Kapp of Huntingburg, Ind.;

by (11) grandchildren and (7) great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Earl E. Johnson will be held at 12:00 noon, E.S.T., onFriday, November 13, 2015 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Holland with burial to follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Holland.  Pastor Debbie Roe will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Holland, the day of the funeral, from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, on Friday.  Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.  Memorial contributions are requested in lieu of flowers.  Condolences may be shared with the family online at:  www.nassandson.com.
