Both drivers were injured in a two vehicles roll-over accident early Monday afternoon along Duff Road SE east of county Road 600 West.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says at about a quarter after 12 Monday afternoon, vehicles driven by Paxton Combs of Huntingburg and Kelsey Hinton whose address was not given, were both headed westbound along Duff Road SE at a high rate of speed when deputies say Combs
attempted to pass Hinton.

Authorities say just as Combs finished the pass, she was unable to keep her vehicle on the road and ran off of the north side. They say her vehicle struck a ditch line and flipped multiple times before coming to rest off of the road and on it’s top. Hinton also ran off of the edge of the road, in an attempt to keep from running completely off of the road and into the crash in front of her. Police say she swerved and went left of center.
While left of center, Hinton  spun, running off of the north side of the road and the vehicle flipped onto it’s top.

Both drivers complained of pain and were treated by Memorial Hospital EMS.

Both vehicles were a total loss. Paxton was charged with speed too fast to avoid a collision.

Sheriff’s deputies were assisted at the scene by Memorial EMS and the Indiana State Police.
