Brenda Jean Aust, age 63, of Stendal, passed away at 7:23 p.m., on Thursday, March 17, 2016, at her residence.

Brenda Aust Obituary Photo601_edited-1She was born May 28, 1952, in Bedford, Indiana to George and Betty (Carnes) Rominger. She married Allen Aust on June 30, 1974, in French Lick, Indiana. She graduated from Springs Valley High School, Oakland City College, and Indiana State University where she received her master’s degree in education. Brenda retired from the Winslow Elementary School after 35 years of teaching. She was a member of the Bethel General Baptist Church; enjoyed creative outlets such as drawing, sewing, photography, and singing; was a hot rod enthusiast; enjoyed Indiana history, mushroom hunting each spring, and most of all Brenda enjoyed following her grandchildren’s endeavors. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Winter (Josh) Fiscus of Winslow, Ind.,
Amber (Jayme) Kunz of Stendal, Ind.,

Beverly (Kern) Hendrix of West Lafayette, Ind.,
One brother,
Bill (Brenda) Rominger of West Baden Springs, Ind.,
and (8) grandchildren.

Funeral services for Brenda Jean Aust will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at the Barrett Cemetery in Stendal.
