Phyllis A. Winkler, 69, of Ferdinand, passed away, Friday, May 20, 2016 at her home. Phyllis was born October 6, 1946 in Ferdinand to Edwin and Dorothy Hoge. She married James Winkler on October 14, 1967 in St. Ferdinand Church.

Phyllis was a member of St. Ferdinand Church where she served on the Welcome Committee. She belonged to Daughters of Isabella and served as Treasurer. Phyllis loved gardening and baking. She won several local baking contests over the years. Phyllis along with her husband Jim were very active in Ferdinand Little League. They served as coaches and later as concession stand managers. Phyllis enjoyed babysitting for many years. She was an avid fan of Holiday World and was a longtime season pass holder. Phyllis loved going for walks and riding her bike. She enjoyed anything in the community that her kids and grandkids were part of.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Jim of Ferdinand; three sons, Alan (Debbie) Winkler and Philip (Kerri) Winkler all of Ferdinand, Brian (LeAnn) Winkler of Lacey, WA; one daughter, Deb (Joe) Butler of LaGrange, IL; nine grandchildren, Garret, Grant, Katie, Nolan, Gavin and Mason Winkler all of Ferdinand, Shannon, Jason and Grace Butler all of LaGrange, IL; one brother, Bill (Mary Ann) Hoge of The Villages, FL. Funeral services will be Monday at 10:00 AM in St. Henry Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Ferdinand Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-8:00 PM at Becher Funeral Home and Monday from 7-9:30 AM at the funeral home. Online condolences may be shared at www.becherfuneralhome.com
