Eleuterio (Lito) Contreras, 67, of Birdseye, passed away, Thursday, July 21st at his home. Eleuterio was born December 24, 1948 in Wichita Falls, TX. to Eleuterio and Zulema (Flores) Contreras.

Contreras picHe married Jackie Hollands on January 12, 1996 in Taos, NM.

Eleuterio was retired from the United States Forest Service. He as a wildlands Firefighter for 35 years. He served in Vietnam from 1969 to 1972 as part of the United States Army.

Eleuterio is survived by his wife, Jackie; one daughter, Zulema Contreras; three brothers, Marcos Contreras of Summit, IL., Joe Contreras on Montebello, CA., Tim Contreras of Wichita Falls, TX.; four sisters, Ester Ball of Grapevine TX., Elizabeth Rangel of Irving TX., Maria Rabara of Cordovia, TN. and Sara Aleman Siebenberg of Flagstaff, AZ.

Eleuterio was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings.

A celebration of life will take place Saturday July 30th at the Birdseye Mason’s Lodge at 12:30 PM EST www.becherfuneralhome.com.
