Another person has filed for candidacy for the District 1 seat on the Southwest Dubois School board for the fall election.

Jennifer Thacker a lifelong resident of Huntingburg and a graduate of Southridge High School is also a former teacher at Huntingburg Elementary School where she was a part of the school’s faculty for five years.

While at Huntingburg Elementary, Thacker served as a special needs instructional assistant, but recently left to work as the office representative for her husband’s construction busines.

Thacker says she believes the relationships and communication she has cultivated in her years working in Huntingburg Elementary are tools she can bring to the position.

Jennifer and her husband Jason have a 9-year-old son who is a fourth-grader at Huntingburg Elementary.

She is an active member of the Parent Teacher Organization at the school. Before teaching at Huntingburg, Thacker was a service representative for Freedom Bank in both the Huntingburg and Jasper locations.

Thacker is a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Huntingburg.

She is also a graduate of the Dubois County Leadership Academy.
