The leader of a Dubois County school corporation has been named to the Board of Directors of a local banking institution. Dr.Tracy Lorey, Superintendent of the Greater Jasper School Corporation will join the current directors of Springs Valley Bank & Trust Company to oversee the compamy through a wide variety of tasks including the establishment of policies and objectives, the appointment and review of executive positions, and the approval of annual budgets. Dr. Lorey received her Ph.D. in Education Administration, Non-Degree Certification in Elementary Administration and Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Indiana State University. She has a Bachelor’s Drgree in Elementary Education from the University of Southern Indiana. In addition to her professional duties, Dr. Lorey is a member of or holds office in several professional organizations. She served as a Council Member of AdvancED Indiana State, and is a member of the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents. She is a Board Member of the Dubois-Spencer-Perry-Pike Exceptional Children’s Cooperative Board, Patoka Valley Career and Technical Cooperative Board, Southern Indiana Education Center Board, Indiana School Board Association, Indiana Association of School Business Officials, and the Children’s Wrap-Around. She is also a member of several community partnerships, including: the Vincennes University Advisory Committee, the Dubois County Safety Committee, Dubois County Health Board, Grow Dubois County, Patoka Valley Health Care Cooperative, the Ireland Vision Steering, and Dubois County Health Partnership.

In a release, Springs Valley president and CEO Jaime Shinabarger says learning and administration are two of the foundational pieces of business, commerce, and banking. He says the company welcome the skill-set that Dr. Lorey brings to the Board. Tracy and her husband Kurt, reside in Jasper and are the parents of seven children. She says it’s an honor to have the opportunity to serve as a member of the Board of Directors at Springs Valley and looks forward to the experience and hope to make a positive contribution to a company with such a long history of success.
