Beginning November 1, 2016 incoming and current Indiana college students can apply for the Next Generation Teacher Scholarship. The NGTscholarship was created to help the next generation of Hooiser teachers pay for college. The State of Indiana will provide 200 scholarships each year to high-achieving high school and college students interested in pursuing a career in education. The scholarship pays $7,500 per year for up to four years to students who commit to teaching in Indiana after graduation.

To apply for the scholarship students should review the application and nomination procedures, complete a nomination form and include it in the online application, complete the online Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship application( available Nov. 1, 2016) and last submit a complete and correct FASA. (allow 5-7 business days for processing).

The deadline for submitting the 2017-18 Next Generation Hoosier Educators Scholarship is December 31, 2016. The application finalist will be selected by January 31, 2017 with interviews of finalist being held on March 11,18 and 25, 2017. On April 15, 2017 finalist will be selected to receive the scholarship. The goal is that every county will have a scholarship recipient.
