Get your new year started out right with some helpful and informational classes from Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center. The hospital is once again playing host to many programs designed for public awareness and benefit. To start if you have ever wondered what you would or could do in life saving situation CPR is front line in saving a person suffering from cardiac arrest with four out of five heart attacks happening at home.

Memorial Hospital offers skill sessions with an American Heart Association Instructor for 30 to 60 minutes. Theses sessions are available for BLS for Health Care Providers, Heartsaver CPR with AED, and Heartsaver First Aid CPR with AED.

The hospital will be offering a program for those who are ready to make a positive change and improve their overall health. The“Personal Wellness Coaching” program is a 30-minute initial session, followed by 20-minute sessions. Sessions are once a week either by phone, person-to-person, or Skype® for a 12 or 6 week period. The series of conversations with a wellness coach to discover why and how to improve health by setting realistic wellness goals that focus on nutrition, fitness, stress, and general health concerns. All sessions are confidential and scheduled at a time convenient to the participant.

Also being offered at the Memorial is a Medic First Aid Refresher with AED. The basic training course in emergency care is designed for use in the business/industrial setting. The refresher course reviews the primary and secondary essential skills of patient care the students learned in the initial training.The Medic First Aid® Refresher with AED class will be offered on Tuesday, January 31 from 8:00 – 11:00 a.m. in the Health and Wellness Classroom at Memorial Southside Office class size is limited and pre-registration is required by visiting Memorial Hospital’s website at www.mhhcc.org.
