Martin County: This morning at 5:16 A.M., a Martin County Deputy pulled over a light colored 2012-2017 Dodge Dart on Mobley Road, about 0.5 miles from Wildman Road for a traffic violation. As the deputy began speaking with the driver, the driver pulled out a handgun and fired a shot at the deputy. The deputy retreated and returned fire. The driver fled in the Dodge and was last seen traveling eastbound on County Road 450 near Trip Road.

The deputy was not injured in the encounter. No license plate information is available.

The shooter is a white male and was wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt and blue jeans.
