Florence M. Hagedorn, 97 formerly of Saint Meinrad died Monday February 6th in Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand. She was born June 28, 1919 in Ferdinand to William & Mayme (Hedinger) Werne. She married Earl E. Hagedorn on May 10, 1938 in St. Meinrad Archabbey Church. He preceded her in death on January 2, 1969.

Florence was retired from General Electric in Tell City and from the Abbey Press Gift Shop. She was a member of St. Meinrad Parish, St. Elizabeth’s Society. She was an Oblate of Saint Benedict. Florence enjoyed cards, quilting & embroidery, traveling with friends, and being with family & friends. She was also preceded in death by one son, Bill Hagedorn, granddaughter Gayle Schuler, great grandson,
Abram Burger, four brothers, Arthur, Linus, Jerome and Gilbert Werne.

Surviving are two daughters, Patricia (Albert) Dilger of Ferdinand, and Carol (Jim) Hedback of Indianapolis. Three sons, Jim (Judi) Hagedorn of Ferdinand, Jack (Janice) Hagedorn of Georgetown, In. and Bob (Maureen) Hagedorn of Santa Claus. 18 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Two sisters, Mary Rose Haas and Adeline Hardwick both of Huntingburg.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM CST Friday in St. Meinrad Catholic Church With burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 1:00 to 7:00 PM CST Thursday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand, and Friday after 9:00 AM CST at the church. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Meinrad Parish or St. Meinrad Cemetery Fund. Online condolences may be sent at www.becherfuneralhome.com.
