William “Bill” M. Blume, age 91, of Celestine, Indiana, passed away at 9:24 a.m. on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana.

Bill was born in Birdseye, Indiana, on April 23, 1926, to William C. and Elizabeth (Miller) Blume.

Bill previously worked at Jerry Seidl Sawmill and for Forest Products for several years.

He was a United States Army Veteran.

He was a member of St. Isidore Parish – St. Celestine Catholic Church, and the American Legion Post #147.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving are one sister, Helen Curl, Celestine, IN, one brother, Maurice Blume, and his wife, Brenda, Kyana, IN, one sister-in-law, Lucille Blume, Jasper, IN, and five nieces and 11 nephews.

Preceding him in death are two sisters, Mary Ann and Hildagarde Blume, who died in infancy, two brothers, Leo L. and Othmar Blume, and one nephew, Matthew Blume, who died in infancy, and two brothers-in-law, Sammy Ingle and Lester Curl.

A Mass of Christian Burial for William “Bill” M. Blume will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at St. Celestine Catholic Church in Celestine, IN, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The American Legion Post #147 will conduct military grave site rites.

A visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, May 22, 2017 at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before services at the church on Tuesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Isidore Catholic Parish, the Alzheimer’s Association or to a favorite charity.
