Officials with the Dubois County Highway Department say beginning this morning (Monday) they will be closing Clay Street in Jasper about 200 feet east of Wernsing Road

The say the closure which is due to a bridge deck replacement will take place beginning at 8 am.

The department says the stretch known as River Road will be shut down thru June 23rd.

COUNTY ROADS TO RECEIVE TREATMENT SEAL

One other reminder, the Dubois County Highway Department says several roads throughout the county are scheduled to receive a Rejuvenating Surface Seal beginning in the middle of this week.

The department beginning this Wednesday, June 7th, will be asking residents not park any vehicles on roads receiving the treatments because it will hinder their ability to complete the work.

The public will be notified when the department is finished with their road. Any cars remaining on the road will be towed at the owner’s expense.

Sealing will be applied Wednesday June 7th thru Thursday June 8th this week in St. Marks along 2nd and 3rd Streets, County Road 450 East, Chestnut Street, Main Street and Front Street

On Friday of this week June 9th though Monday the 12th , work on surface sealing will take place in the Woodland Hills Subdivision on multiple road ways. which will include; Bertwood Court, Pleasant View Lane, Maria Court, Robert Drive, Gramwood Drive, Dogwood Drive, Charmwood Drive, Glennwood Terrace Lane, and Lakeview Drive

The highway department anticipates that the roads will be open to local traffic during most of the work. However, motorists should know that there will be short periods of time where direct access to your driveway will not be possible.

All scheduling is subject to daily weather conditions and any unforeseen circumstances.

The highway department appreciates residents patience and cooperation during the process.
