Dane G. Dougan, age 90, of Huntingburg, Indiana, passed away at 1:15 p.m., Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand.

He was born March 16, 1927, in Selvin, Indiana to Glenn and Mary (Windels) Dougan. Dane was a graduate of Dale High School and was united in marriage to Evelyn Hemmer on August 26, 1950. He was a Highway Engineer for the Indiana Department of Transportation and a farmer. Dane was a member of the Holland United Methodist Church; Dubois County 4-H Council and Extension Board during the development of the Dubois County 4-H Fairgrounds; 4-H Leader for 40 years; Holland Church Softball League Founding President; loved breeding and showing animals, especially Angus cattle, Katahdin sheep, Boer goats, chickens and pigeons; and showed pigeons at the Kentucky State Fair for 46 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Dougan, who died November 11, 2010; and his special friend, Ruth Lehmkuhl, who died April 11, 2014.

Dane is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Gary (Jan) Dougan of Huntingburg and Bruce Dougan of Fontana, California; four grandchildren, Alison (Justin) Walton of Indianapolis, Christine (Korey) Carter of Washington, D.C., Nathan Dougan of Cincinnati, Ohio and Lindsay Dougan of Fontana, California; and by two great grandsons, James and Evan.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., E.D.T., on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at the Holland United Methodist Church in Holland with burial to follow in the Holland United Methodist Cemetery. Reverends Keith Chanley and Jack Pollock will officiate the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday; and also at the Church from 9:30-10:30 a.m., Saturday. Condolences may be shared online at: www.nassandson.com
