Wilma I. Schnarr, age 83 of Jasper, passed away at 10:04 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2017, in St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.

She was born at Portersville, Indiana on August 23, 1933 to George and Nora (Hoffman) Wening. She married Daniel W. Schnarr on October 20, 1955 in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana. He preceded her in death on October 29, 2011.

Along with her late husband she was a lifelong farmer and homemaker. She was a member of the original Wening band.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boone Township and the Church Choir. She was also very active in the Dubois County Food Bank. She especially enjoyed sewing and crafting.

Preceding her in death besides her husband is one brother, Herbert A. Wening and one sister Cleda Wening.

Funeral services for Wilma Schnarr will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2017 in St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boone Township with burial to follow in St. John’s Cemetery. The Rev. Catherine Burnette will officiate.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Monday, June 19, 2017, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before service at church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John’s Lutheran church or to a favorite charity.
