Helen B. Grewe, age 92, of Huntingburg, passed away at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, June 29, 2017, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

She was born January 17, 1925, in Huntingburg, Indiana to Albert and Hulda (Feldmeyer) Brunsman. Helen was united in marriage to Richard Leo “Dick” Grewe on October 11, 1947, at Salem Church in Huntingburg. Helen worked as a bank teller for the First National Bank in Huntingburg; was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, where she sang in the choir for 76 years; the Huntingburg Music Club since 1948; the V.F.W. Post #2366 Auxiliary; the Celebration Singers; the former St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxiliary; was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader; and enjoyed volunteering at Shared Abundance. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Leo “Dick” Grewe, who passed away on November 23, 2003; and her daughter, Linda Grewe Hamilton, who passed away in 1988.

She is survived by her daughter, Pam Grewe, of Evansville, Indiana. Also surviving is her cousin, Norma Jean Trent, who she considered her sister; her “buddies in crime” and “daughters”, Phyllis Feldmeyer and Sue Meyer; her Godson, Matt Julian and “nieces” Missy Tarantino and Elizabeth Fortuna; nieces, Elizabeth Walter Alberding and Barbara Hopkins Swavley; and Nephews, James A. Hopkins and John R. Walter.

Funeral services for Helen B. Grewe will be held at 11:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Saturday, July 8, 2017, at Salem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Pastor Mark West will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 3:00-8:00 p.m., on Friday, July 7, 2017; and also at Salem United Church of Christ one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday morning.
