The Lincoln Boyhood Drama Association’s specialty Indiana license plate is currently on the probationary list with the state of Indiana.
Presently, there are just over 200 registered plates and, to have the state rescind the probationary status, sales must top the 500 mark by December 31st of this year or the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles will no longer offer the plate in 2018.

The Lincoln Boyhood Drama Association receives $25 per registered plate, of which 100% of those proceeds totaling $5,000, were donated to the Lincoln Amphitheater in to help offset costs associated with the Amphitheater’s signature summer dramatic production which is based upon the 16th president’s time spent growing up in southern Indiana.

Lincoln Boyhood Drama Association’s Board of Directors President Bud Schaaf says they created and applied for the Lincoln Boyhood Drama specialty license plate to not only bring awareness to the 14 years that Abraham Lincoln lived in Spencer County, but to also create a source of funding to pass on to the Lincoln Amphitheater and its signature Lincoln summer production.

Schaaf says it is the only Lincoln specialty plate where funds raised remain in Spencer County. When ordering, it is important to specify the ‘Lincoln Boyhood Drama’ plate, which depicts Abraham reading a book and holding his axe.

The Lincoln Boyhood Drama Association specialty license plate can be purchased at any Bureau of Motor Vehicles location or online at in.gov/bmv.

Select “Special Organizations” and then “Lincoln Boyhood Drama” as the specific plate. Plates can be renewed at any time (ahead of your normal renewal date or even if you’ve already renewed for the year) and are available for cars, trucks, motorcycles, and recreational vehicles (campers).

The Lincoln Boyhood Drama Association’s specialty plate is the only Abraham Lincoln-related plate where all proceeds generated stay local—in this cast to benefit the Lincoln Amphitheater.
