Darrell H. Powell, age 74, of Holland, passed away at 12:46 p.m., on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, in the emergency room of Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

He was born July 29, 1943, in Waverly, Kentucky to Norris and Willie Loree (Hunter) Powell; and was married to Lavonne Hunefeld on June 30, 1972, in Holland. Darrell was a farmer; attended the Holland United Methodist Church; and enjoyed sports and spending time with his grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Lee, George and Larry Powell; and his grandson, Jaxon Cale Bland.

He is survived by his wife, Lavonne Powell of Holland; two daughters, Tresia (Chad) Bland of Holland and Lisa (T.J.) Montgomery of Holland; three brothers, Kenneth (Joanne) Powell of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, Jerry (Marlene) Powell of Heilman and Steve (Alice) Powell of Holland; two sisters, Wilma Clark of Owensboro, Kentucky and Helen (John) Shuck of Blytheville, Arkansas; and by six grandchildren, Chase and Dylan Bland, Jayden Colson, and Myah, Avah and Hudson Montgomery.

Funeral services for Darrell H. Powell will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday, August 27, 2017, at the Holland United Methodist Church in Holland with burial to follow at the Holland United Methodist Cemetery. The Reverend Keith Chanley will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-6:00 p.m., on Saturday; and also at the church from 1:00-2:00 p.m., on Sunday, prior to the funeral.
