The Dubois County Public Health Partnership’s 8th annual program is set for next Tuesday September 12th at the Huntingburg Event Center in Huntingburg.

The event will offer information and inspiration for adults and caregivers to improve their physical, mental and social fitness.

Speakers include:

Sr. Betty Drewes from the Sisters of St. Benedict. She will speak on “Choosing Life and Growing Gracefully”;

Jay Baker with German American Bank will present on “Scams and Fraud”;

Brenda Hagedorn from Purdue Extension Spencer County, will speak on “Safety in the Home;

Sr. Rose Mary Rexing and Kathy Burton from Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center will speak on “Advanced Care Planning”;

And Sue Wehr will present on “Faith Community Nursing”.

Also a yoga demonstration by Tina Drew will be presented.

Doors will open at 8:30 a.m. The day will feature speakers, a vendor fair, lunch and door prizes.

Donna Oeding, chairman of the Dubois County Public Health Partnership says the goal of this annual program is to offer information to encourage individuals to make proactive choices as they age.

She says the committee is expecting a large turnout as over 100 people and 20 vendors attended last year’s event.

Registration is $10 and must be made in advance by calling the Older Americans Center by
September 6th at 812-482-4455.

Sponsoring agencies include: Dubois County Public Health Partnership, Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center, TRI-CAP RSVP, Older Americans – Arnold F. Habig Community Center, Dubois County, Generations, Crisis Connection, Purdue Extension Dubois County and the Dubois County Health Department.
