Joan I. Reckelhoff, age 67, of St. Anthony, Indiana, passed away at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 31, 2017, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana.

Joan was born in Huntingburg, Indiana, on June 13, 1950, to Norbert and Delores (Uebelhor) Auffart. She married Dan Reckelhoff on August 21, 1971, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana.

Joan was a 1968 graduate of Ireland High School, and then she received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business, and her Master’s degree in Education from Indiana State University.

Joan was a Professor of Business at Vincennes University Jasper Campus for 35 years.

She was a member of Divine Mercy Parish – St. Anthony Campus and the St. Anthony Christian Mothers.

She enjoyed reading, spending time with her children, traveling, and going to the casino.

Surviving are her husband, Dan Reckelhoff, St. Anthony, IN, one daughter, Judy Reckelhoff, and her husband, Mike Hulett, Woodbridge, VA, three sons, Steve Reckelhoff, and his wife, Megan, Brownsburg, IN, Kevin Reckelhoff, and his wife, Lori, Houston, TX, and Jamie Reckelhoff, and his wife Paige Dufour, Noblesville, IN, her mother, Delores Auffart, Huntingburg, IN, three sisters, Margie Staten, and husband, Bill, Ladoga, IN, Marilyn Kunkler, Charlestown, IN, and Susie Brown, and her husband, Bob, Taswell, IN, and one brother, Al Auffart, and his wife, Marti, Cutler, IN.

Preceding her in death her father, Norbert Auffart, two brothers- in law, Tim Kunkler and Tom Reckelhoff, and two nephews, Brian Reckelhoff and Jason Kunkler.

Funeral Services for Joan I. Reckelhoff will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

A Visitation will be held from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, and one hour before services at the church on Thursday. A rosary will be prayed at 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
