Jasper resident Shane Lindauer announced Monday that will be a candidate for the republican nomination for the District 63 seat in the State House of Representatives in the 2018 primary.

Shane and his wife Stacy are both 1992 graduates of Jasper High School.

After high school, Shane attended Indiana State University where he graduated with a B.S. in Industrial Technology Supervision. From 1997-2005, he was a member of both the Indiana and Missouri Army National Guard.

In 2001, the couple moved to St. Louis where Shane enrolled at Logan College of Chiropractic graduating in 2004 with a Doctorate of Chiropractic and a B.S. in Health and Human Sciences.

Since graduation, he has had experience in small business both in Chiropractic private practice as well as his current position as part owner of a small family business.

In 2010, Lindauer was elected to the Dubois County Council District 2 where he served a 4 year term. He has held adjunct faculty teaching positions for Oakland City University Bedford Campus and for Ivy Tech in Evansville.

Shane and Stacy currently live in Jasper with their two children.

Lindauer says he believes that government was primarily instituted to protect life, liberty and property. He says all other functions need to be heavily scrutinized keeping in mind that government doesn’t create wealth, it can only take it from the taxpayer.

He says he is strongly prolife as well as an ardent supporter of the 2nd Amendment.

Lindauer believes his combination of experience in the National Guard, in County government, raising a family, and as a business owner has prepared him well to be the State Representative for District 63.

Current represenative Mike Braun of Jasper announced plans earlier this month to run for the U.S. Senate seat currently occupied by incumbent Democrat Joe Donnelly.

District 63 consists of Bainbridge, Boone, Columbia, Hall, Harbison, Madison and Marion townships in Dubois County and parts of Pike, Daviess and Martin counties.
