The City of Huntingburg is hosting the fourth annual “5-5-5,” a series of monthly 5K fun walk/runs intended to give people a chance to exercise in an enjoyable group setting.

The fifth and final 5-5-5 will take place tomorrow afternoon.

“5-5-5,” a program created by Huntingburg Mayor Denny Spinner, has been taking place on the second Friday of the month beginning in May and continuing through September at 5 pm.

Once again the fifth and final “5-5-5” for 2017 will be held tomorrow afternoon beginning at 5 pm.

Spinner says it’s been a thrill to see the community’s response of “5-5-5” the past few years. He says the number of participants continues to grow, which proves 5-5-5 is a valuable program for all involved.

Children and adults of every fitness level are encouraged to take part. Participants should meet at Huntingburg City Hall prior to the 5 pm start time. There will be no timers during each 5K as it is meant to be a social opportunity that incorporates physical activity.

Participants must sign in at the registration table prior to each event.

Corporate partners for “5-5-5” include Farbest Foods, Hometown IGA, MasterBrand Cabinets, OFS Brands, Tri-County YMCA and Dubois Wood Products.
