Roy Garland Carver, Jr. , age 74, of Jasper, passed away at 5:35 a.m., on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, at University of Louisville Hospital, Louisville, Kentucky.

He was born October 24, 1942, in Chrisney, Indiana to Roy Garland, Sr. and Ona (Cahoon) Carver. He married Gail Lynn Pursley on December 24, 1964, at Bullock Town Pentecostal Church, Boonville, IN. Roy served our country in the Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from Jasper Rubber Products after 47 years; liked going fishing; was a member of the American Legion; and Lighthouse Worship Center in Jasper where he enjoyed serving as a cameraman, janitor and any duty he was asked to do. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Nora Gladys Greenwood; and a brother, Raymond Carver.

Roy is survived by his wife, Gail Carver; two sons, Bruce and Farran Carver, both of Jasper; two brothers, Charles Carver of Gentryville and Ronald (Marsha) Carver of Boonville; by one granddaughter, Megan Russell.

Funeral services for Roy Garland Carver, Jr., will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T., Monday, October 2, 2017, at Nass and Son Funeral Home with burial to follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the V.F.W. Post # 2366 Memorial Detail and Evansville Honor Guard. The funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Robert Eckert.
