Conservative businessman and republican candidate of the United State Senate Mike Braun of Jasper, signed a term limit pledge that would limit US senators to two terms in Washington.

In a release Braun says he made his career in the private sector and says the country needs more people who can tackle big issues from perspectives gained from running a business and not a career politician’s perspective. He says the country needs term limits if we want to clean up Washington.

US Senators serve terms of six years each and are not term limited. The terms are staggered so that approximately one-third of the seats are up for election every two years.

Braun says the political establishment in Washington has no understanding of how to run a business and how their disastrous policies impact Hoosiers. He continued that career politicians are always more worried about winning re-election than delivering results for the American people.

US Term Limits President Philip Blumel commented on Braun’s pledge, saying,

Braun signed a term limit pledge offered by US Term Limits. He also stated he would support a constitutional amendment providing term limits for all members of the US Senate and House of Representatives.
