Brenda L. Kress, age 67, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 4:10 p.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at home.

Brenda was born in Vincennes, Indiana, on October 22, 1949, to Robert and Betty (Dilley) Smith.

She previously worked at Kimball International for 18 years and most recently worked in quality control at Jasper Rubber for seven years.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, where she was a member of the choir. She was also a member of the American Legion Post #147 Auxiliary.

She loved animals. She loved spending time with family and friends and attending musicals.

Surviving, three daughters, Andrea Bunnett, Henderson, NV, Leslie Sturm (Scott), Jasper, IN, Lisa Werner (Todd), Jasper, one son, Joseph Kress (Erica), Jasper, IN, seven grandchildren, her mother, Betty Smith, Jasper, IN, three sisters, Nila Howard (Butch), Columbus, IN, Linda O’Connell (Michael), Springville, IN, and Sylvia Smith, Jasper, IN.

Preceding her in death is her father, Robert Smith.

A Mass of Christian burial for Brenda Kress will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

A visitation will be held from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2017, at Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Choir, Dubois County Humane Society or to a favorite charity.
