Doris Jean Linnenburger, age 89 of Ireland, Indiana, passed away at 6:51 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at her daughter’s home in Ireland, Indiana.

Doris was born in Kankakee, Illinois, on April, 2, 1928, to George and Roselda (Varboncouer) Tibbie. She married Gilbert Linnenburger in October of 1953. He preceded her in death in March of 1981.

She was a Stock Organizer for Woolworth’s Department Stores for 33 years.

She enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Surviving are three daughters, Sandy Smith, Salt Lake City, UT, Jackie Clark, Fruita, CO, Susan Hurt (Mark), Ireland, IN, 11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, one sister, Mae Taylor, Hammond, IN, and one sister-in-law, Eileen Tibbie, Homewood, IL.

Preceding her in death are one great grandson, who died in infancy, her twin sister, Dorothy Schneider, and one brother, Myron Tibbie.

Funeral Services for Doris Linnenburger will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, IN with burial to follow in Owensville Cemetery in Owensville, IN. Fr. William Traylor and Fr. Tony Ernst will officiate.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the 2:00 p.m. service on Wednesday October 11, 2017 at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
