Martina A. Streicher, age 93 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away peacefully at 9:44 a.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at home.

Martina was born in Dubois, Indiana on February 5, 1924 to John and Amelia (Schneider) Friedman. She married Lawrence A. Streicher on August 18, 1948 in St. Raphael’s Catholic Church in Dubois, Indiana. He preceded her in death on April 28, 2015.

She worked for the Sears Store in Jasper for many years.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and their Blessed Virgin Sodality.

Martina loved spending time with her family and friends, and enjoyed plants, gardening, sewing, crocheting, and reading and praying.

Surviving are five daughters, Karen Toby of Jasper, Marlene Hastreiter (Greg), Ft. Wayne, IN, Janet Streicher, Mary Reisz (Kevin), and Joan Jacob (Dean), all of Jasper, one son, Gary Streicher (Elaine) of Jasper, nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death beside her husband was one son-in-law, Ron Toby, three sisters, Elvira Denu, Laurena Zehr, and LaVerne Kluesner, four brothers, Cyril, Cletus, Raymond, and Edwin Freidman, and two brothers who died in infancy.

Funeral Services for Martina A. Streicher will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, IN, with burial to follow in Enlow City Cemetery in Jasper.

Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper. The Blessed Virgin Sodality will pray the rosary at 8:45 a.m. at church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, or the Dubois County Community Food Bank.
