Barbara Ann (Bartelt) Bilderback, age 78, of Holland, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was born September 19, 1939, near Holland, Indiana to Melvin W.L. and Mabel E. (Langebrake) Bartelt; and married Allen L. Bilderback on June 18, 1960, at Zoar Methodist Church. Barbara was employed for 41 years at Southridge High School by the Southwest Dubois County School Corporation. She was a lifelong member of Zoar United Methodist Church where she served on the Administrative Council, participated in the United Methodist Women, and taught Sunday school for sixty years. Barbara enjoyed gardening, Raider athletics, spending time with her family, and vacationing in the Great Smoky Mountains. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Michael L. Bilderback; one daughter, Lynne (Bilderback) Weber Messmer; her sister, Lois Mae Bartelt; and son-in-law, Norman Leo Weber, Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Allen L. Bilderback of Holland; her son, Lee A. Bilderback of Holland; one sister, Thelma Jean (Lester) Oxley of Stendal; one brother, William E. (Kathryn) Bartelt of Newburgh; son-in-law, Stan Messmer of Huntingburg; granddaughter, Meagan (Justin) (Weber) Bayer of Huntingburg; grandson, Ben Weber of Indianapolis; and great grandson, Brantley Bayer.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.S.T., on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at Zoar United Methodist Church in Zoar, Indiana with burial at Zoar Cemetery. Reverend Keith Chanley will officiate.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., E.S.T., on Friday, December 1st; and also at church one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday. Memorials may be designated to the Lynne (Bilderback) Weber Messmer Endowment c/o the Dubois County Community Foundation, Zoar United Methodist Church, or a favorite charity.
