Trooper Detective Brock Werne of the Jasper District of the Indiana State Police along with Trooper Walter Butt of the Indianapolis Post represented the Indiana State Police last week at a funeral for a fallen Texas trooper in Temple, Texas.

Texas Department of Public Safety Senior Trooper Thomas Nipper was killed in a traffic crash on November 4th.

Werne and Butt, both members of the ISP Honor Guard, attended the funeral and assisted the Texas Department of Public Safety as they laid their fallen officer to rest.

The Indiana State Police regularly sends members of the department to out-of-state funeral details for fallen state police officers as a gesture of solidarity in a law enforcement family that goes beyond any borders.
