Eddie M. Olberding, age 72, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 8:15 a.m., on Monday, February 12, 2018, in Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana.

Eddie was born in Tell City, Indiana, on February 11, 1946, to Edward and Imogene (Freeman) Olberding.  He married Linda (Yarnell) Goller on June 28, 1997, in Nashville, Tennessee.

He was a 1964 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School, and a 1966 graduate of Sullivan Business College.

He was a computer programmer for Humana, Memorial Hospital, and BR Associates.

Eddie was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper and the Jasper Moose.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and cheering on the Indianapolis Colts and St. Louis Cardinals.

Surviving are his wife Linda Olberding, Jasper, IN, two daughters, Jenny (Kevin) Evans, Newburgh, IN, Teresa Heeke, Jasper, IN,  one step son, Jon (Becky) Goller, Bedford, IN, three grandchildren, Cassie and Cameron Heeke, Charlotte Evans, five step grandchildren, Danielle Jeffers, Ashley Goller, Dylan, Landen, and Mila Goller, two step great grandchildren, Kollins and Kolbi Jeffers, step mother, Irene (Bob) Neal, Madison, IN,  two half sisters, Valerie (Melvin) Rudolph, Henryville, IN, Toni Olberding, Madison, IN, one half brother, Thomas (Robin) Mills, Sacramento, CA, one step brother, Fred (Traci) Tandy, Madison, IN.  He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Ozzie.

Preceding him in death are one daughter, Lesia Olberding, one half brother, Paul Olberding, and one step sister, Karen Weaver.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Eddie M. Olberding will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 16, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, with entombment to follow in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Jasper, Indiana.

A visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.   The Jasper Moose will have a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
