Angie Giesler, of Jasper, has filed her candidacy to run for Dubois County Assessor on the Democrat ticket for the 2018 election.

Giesler has served as a deputy in the Assessor’s Office since 2007. Prior to that she worked in the Dubois County Auditor’s Office for 7 years. Before coming to work for the County, she was employed by German American Bank.

County assessors must meet certain Indiana State certification requirements. Giesler has already fulfilled those requirements by completing all the necessary work to become a Level III Assessor-Appraiser.

in a release Giesler says while working in the Assessor’s Office for the past 11 years she feels she has grown to understand the great importance of running an efficient office.

She says funding for all county services depends on the Assessor’s Office certifying market value assessments on time so the budgeting process can proceed. She says she’s confident that she can perform the duties that the office requires in a professional manner.

Angie added that her past work experience, Level III Assessor-Appraiser certification, and knowledge of county government are the reasons she’s an excellent choice to be the Dubois County Assessor and says she looks forward to continue serving the citizens of Dubois County.

A graduate of Northeast Dubois High School, Giesler attended Indiana University. Her memberships include St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, St. Ann’s Society, Daughters of Isabella, Association of Indiana County Assessors, International Association of Assessing Officers, the Dubois County Tax Abatement Committee and is a former member of the Dubois County Property Tax Assessment Board of Appeals.

Angie and her husband Jeff have been married for 32 years. They have two grown children.
