Carma J. Habig, age 84, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 10:49 a.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2018, at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper, Indiana.

Carma was born in Jasper, Indiana, on September 29, 1933, to the late Cyril and Margaret V. (Seacrest) Wilson. She married her husband of 64 years, John B. Habig on December 18, 1954, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper.

Carma graduated from Jasper High School in 1951 and Stephens College in 1953, and then attended Indiana University. She was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority and the Eastern Star. She was proud to have been a cheerleader for the 1949 Jasper Basketball State champions.

She enjoyed traveling, wintering in Florida, bird watching and had a unique gift in finding four leaf clovers.

Surviving are her husband, John Habig, Jasper, IN, two daughters, Michaela Ann Habig, Loogootee, IN, Teri Elizabeth (Hank) Zunk, Haubstadt, IN, three grandchildren, Andy (Erin) Zunk, Hannah (Detrix) Schafer, and Jon (Lauren) Hudson, and three great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death is her sister Margaret E. Beckman.

A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, with entombment to follow in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum.
