Beginning March 19, 2018, Dubois REC, an electric cooperative in Jasper, Indiana will have a new leader at the helm. Joseph Henson has been named Chief Executive Officer by the co-op’s Board of Directors. Henson replaces Don Book, who has served as CEO for over 27 years.

As the new Dubois REC CEO, Joe Henson brings more than 33 years in the corporate office and heavy industrial setting, most recently serving as the Manager of Safety and Training at Hoosier Energy. He started his career in 1984 at the Frank E. Ratts Generating Station in Petersburg, Indiana. Henson has strong experience in project management, strategic planning and executive leadership. Henson received his project management training through Kelly School of Business and has a Master of Business Administration degree. Henson has been married to his wife Debbie for almost 30 years. They have three children and two granddaughters.

“I’m excited to be joining the great team at Dubois REC. Don has accomplished wonderful things and I hope to continue his great work to take this great co-op into a strong future,” said Joe Henson, “I am really looking forward to serving the members of the Dubois REC.”

departments at co-ops in Illinois and Ohio before coming to Dubois REC.  Book will join his wife Paula in retirement.  They have three children and three grandchildren.

“I can’t say enough great things about my time here at Dubois REC, the board, our staff and most importantly our members,” remarked Don Book. “I’ve spent 42 years in the co-op world; my family has been a part of this world for years. I’m proud of the steps we have taken to improve the lives of our members while working to keep rates low. I feel that Joe Henson will complement the work we have accomplished and will work hard to keep Dubois REC on the path toward a successful future.”

“As a board, we have been very pleased with Don’s dedicated service to our members and our community,” said Board President Brad Knies. “Don has always ensured our member’s needs were being met and their voices were heard. We feel that Joe Henson is the right person to step up and make sure the dedication and care is seamlessly continued.”
