Kenneth Michael “Mike” Overbey, age 69, of Holland, passed away at 7:20 p.m., on Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at his residence.

He was born February 6, 1949, in Hayti, Missouri to Kenneth and Betty Jo (Hanna) Overbey; and married Connie Leistner on January 21, 1989, at Salem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg.  Mike graduated from Hayti North High School in Missouri and worked as a surveyor for the State of Missouri, from 1967-1974, on a bridge building project which spanned the Mississippi River.  He retired as a coal miner with Vigo Coal, located near Boonville, where he worked from 1976-2010.  Mike enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, horseback riding, boating and camping.  He was a member of the Dubois County Masonic Lodge #520 F&AM.  Mike was preceded in death by his mother and father.

He is survived by his wife, Connie Overbey of Holland; six children, Michael (Regina) Overbey, Jr. of Jackson, Tennessee, Renee (Lanny) Long of Bogota, Tennessee, Morgan Overbey of Caruthersville, Missouri, Angie (Brian) Mehringer of Huntingburg, Ind., Jared (Mandy) Harris of Huntingburg, Ind., and Kasey Overbey of Mount Vernon, Ind.;two siblings, Debbie Payne of Greenville, Missouri and Jackie (Glenda) Overbey of Hayti, Missouri; and twelve grandchildren, Preston Overbey, Jake Overbey, Lauren Long, Dusty Long, Joe Morgan Overbey, Alyssa Overbey, Elizabeth Mehringer, Samuel Mehringer, Carter Harris, Eli Harris, Easton Harris, and Corden Harris.

Funeral services for Kenneth Michael Overbey will be held at 11:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Salem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Augustana Cemetery in Holland.  The funeral will be officiated by Rev. Mark West and Rev. Paul Alvey.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., on Friday, March 23rd; and also at Salem United Church of Christ from 10:00-11:00 a.m., on Saturday.  The Dubois County Masonic Lodge #520 F&AM will conduct a masonic vigil service at 7:00 p.m., Friday evening, at the funeral home.  Condolences may be shared online at:  www.nassandson.com
