Roberta Jacqueline “Jackie” Berger, age 88, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 6:45 p.m. on Monday, April 23, 2018, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper, Indiana, with her four children by her side.

Jackie was born in Paragould, Arkansas, on July 30, 1929, to Thomas and Mary Catherine (Alvey) Stewart.  She married Daniel J. Berger on June 9, 1951, in St. Louis, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on December 16, 2015.

Jackie was a graduate of Holy Angels Academy in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

She was a bookkeeper and homemaker.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, St. Ann’s Society, Jasper D of I, Beta Sigma Pi Sorority, and the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

She enjoyed crossword puzzles, travelling, and spending time with her family and grandchildren, and she enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and I.U. Basketball.

Surviving are two daughters, Chris (David) Drake, Huntingburg, IN, Terrie (Mike) Keusch, Jasper, IN, two sons, Dr. Greg (Anne) Berger, Jasper, IN, and Tom Berger, Jasper, IN, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death besides her husband are two grandchildren, Joey Berger and Angela Keusch, three sisters, Mabel Stewart, Bernita Schillinglaw, and Loretta Gordon, and two brothers, Charles and Eugene Stewart.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Roberta “Jackie” Berger will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, with entombment to follow in Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum in Jasper.

A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church on Friday.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph’s Church, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Dubois County Right to Life, or a favorite charity.
