Charles F. “Chill” Habig, age 83 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 4:55 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper, IN.

Charles was born in Jasper, Indiana on October 13, 1934 to Edward and Dora (Kuper) Habig.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in the Korean War, and was a member of the VFW Post #673 and the American Legion Post #147 in Jasper.

Charles retired as the President of the Jasper Glove Company in Jasper.  He also served on the Bainbridge Township Advisory Board for over 32 years, 28 of those as the President.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper and the Jasper Knights of Columbus.

Surviving is one brother, Don Habig (Joan) Louisville, KY, one sister, Mary Jane Ryder (Bill), Lancaster, PA, one granddaughter Cody Myles, one great grandson, Eli Myles, his caretaker, Sue Loepker, Jasper, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Charles F. “Chill” Habig will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

There will be no visitation.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to a favorite charity.
