The Jasper Deutscher Verein, also simply known as the German Club, is sponsoring an essay contest in conjunction with the German-American Day dinner and German Heritage Award presentation.

The contest is open to all seniors in the four Dubois County school corporations. The winner from each school will read their essay at the German-American Day dinner on October 4th at the Schnitzelbank Restaurant in Jasper.

Topics include “What does German Heritage mean to me?” or “What is my role in preserving and promoting our German Heritage in Dubois County?” The winner from each school will be awarded a $250 scholarship, sponsored by German American Bank.
