A traffic stop late Wednesday evening in Huntingburg resulted in the arrest of a Huntingburg man on drug related charges.

Just before 11:30 pm Wednesday an officer with the Huntingburg Police Department pulled over a vehicle driven by 47-year old Gadir Ochoa of Huntingburg after police say he failed to stop at a stop sign.

Police say as they conducted a search of Ochoa’s passenger car they noticed marijuana cigarettes in the driver’s side front door. They say the search resulted in the discovery of eight individual plastic bags of marijuana.

Police say Ochoa admitted to having smoked marijuana a few hours before the stop. A blood test at Jasper’s Memorial Hospital came back positive for marijuana.

Ochoa was then taken to and booked into the Dubois County Security Center on misdemeanor counts of operating while under the influence of marijuana, possession of marijuana and dealing marijuana.
