A multi-law enforcement agency investigation resulted in the Sunday arrest of a Jasper man on a number of felony charges including rape and criminal confinement.

Around 4 am yesterday, the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department was contacted by the Boonville Police Department who said they had come across a female that had been assaulted in Dubois County.

The Boonville officer told local authorities that he was taking the female victim to a Warrick County Emergency room for treatment of her injuries.

A Dubois County Deputy traveled to the Warrick County hospital to meet with the officer and interview the victim.

Authorities say the victim appeared to have sustained multiple injuries to her face and head area.

After the injuries were documented and an interview was performed, the deputy returned to Dubois County and secured a search and arrest warrant for 38-year old Isaac Stewart of Jasper.

Deputies with the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department along with officers with the Jasper Police Department executed those warrants around 9 am.

Stewart was taken into custody and was booked into the Dubois County Security Center on:

A Level 1 Felony count of Rape,

A Level 3 Felony count of Criminal Confinement,

And Level 5 Felony Counts of Battery resulting in bodily injury, Battery with a deadly weapon and Strangulation.

Stewart is being held without bond.
