Kenneth L. “Tex” Meyer, age 69 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 5:29 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at home.

Kenneth was born in Huntingburg, Indiana on January 29, 1950 to Louis J. and Olivia E. (Oser) Meyer.  He married Connie Voegerl on May 18, 1985 in Salem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg.

Kenneth was a U.S. Marine Veteran who served in the Vietnam War and was a life member and past commander of the VFW Post #673, a member of the American Legion Post #147, the Wounded Veteran’s of Dubois County, the 40 and 8 Club, and a life member of the Southern Indiana Leatherneck’s Marine Corp League.

He was a self-employed Electrician who was a partner in Mehinger-Meyer Electric Co.

He was a member of the Jasper Outdoor Recreation.

He enjoyed reading history and spending time with friends and family.

Surviving are his wife, Connie Meyer of Jasper, two daughters, Davi Mattingly (Robert), Jasper, and Kena Robling (Lanny), Jasper, one son, Adam Meyer, Jasper, eleven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one sister, Lois Recker (Mark), Dubois and one brother Steven Meyer (Barb), Colorado Springs, CO.

Preceding him in death are his parents and two brothers, Bill Meyer and Chuck Meyer.

Funeral services for Kenneth L. “Tex” Meyer will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28th, 2019 at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.  Pastor Darrel Land will officiate.  The VFW Post #673 will conduct military gravesite rites.

A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the 1 p.m. service time on Tuesday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper.

Memorial contributions may be made to the VFW Post #673 Funeral Detail or a favorite charity.
