Noon on Wednesday, June 26th marks a changing of the guard so to speak at St. Joesph’s Parish in Jasper.
Noon is the official change over to new pastors at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.  Father Ray Brenner and Associates Father William Traylor and Father Jerry Pratt will co-celebrate Mass at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper at 8:00 am on Wednesday morning.  The community is welcome to join in this Farewell Mass.  The Parish salutes their service and support of the Parish and our community. Father Ray was named Pastor of Saint Joseph on July 2, 2002, and recently celebrated his 50th Anniversary of Ordination, Father Traylor has served Saint Joseph for more than eight years and Father Jerry arrived 14 months ago.
Father Ray and Father Traylor will officially retire at 12 Noon Wednesday, Father Pratt will accept his new role as Administrator of Resurrection Parish in Evansville, and Father Martin Estrada will become the Associate Pastor at Holy Rosary Parish, Evansville.
Father Eugene Schmitt currently at St. Isidore Parish in Celestine will become the new pastor at St. Joseph’s Church in Jasper at noon Wednesday.  Father Eugene will be joined at St. Joe’s by Associate Pastor Father Homero Rodriquez currently at Holy Rosary in Evansville and by newly ordained Associate Pastor Father Andrew Thomas from Vincennes.  Father Andrew Thomas will also be assisting Father Ryan Hilderbrand at St. Mary’s Catholic Parish in Huntingburg.
A side note to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, effective on Sunday, June 30, the time of the Mass offered in Spanish will move to 3:00 PM Eastern.  All other Mass times at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper remain unchanged.   Saturday mass times 5:30 summer evenings and 4:00 pm winter evenings.  Sunday mass times at St. Joe’s are 6:00, 7:30, 9:00, and 11:00 all in the morning; the Spanish mass at 3:00 PM; and an evening mass at 6:00 PM
