If you have to be outside anytime the rest of the week, make sure you’re drinking plenty of water and taking breaks in a place with AC.
We are under an Excessive Heat Warning starting at 2 pm on Thursday to 8 pm on Sunday.
The National Weather Service only issues an Excessive Heat Warning when the heat index is expected to be 105 or grader for more than 2 hours.
This warning means that people can be seriously affected by the heat if precautions are not taken.
It also will alert local hospitals and officials to take certain actions to prepare and respond to an increase in emergency calls and check on the elderly and homebound.
So if you have to be outside, stay hydrated and take lots of breaks in a place with AC.
