Strong to severe storms rolled through the area yesterday, snapping trees and taking down powerlines.

In Dubois County, there were numerous reports of trees down, including several on roads. According to Dubois County REMC, 1,000 people lost power last night. As of three this morning, all power is restored.

In Spencer County, large trees fell on Route 66 east of Grandview. In Rockport, the wind blew down a power pole, and numerous outages were reported.

Very little to no damage was reported in Perry County, according to Central Dispatch.

In Daviess County, Washington Township was hit the hardest. Several trees blew down, taking out some powerlines. Scattered outages were reported. One tree blew down on a house, causing extensive roof damages, but no injuries were reported.

In Martin County, several trees blew down, but no structural damage was reported, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
