Annetta M. Mehling, 88 of Mariah Hill, passed away on Sunday, August 25th at Scenic Hills Care in Ferdinand.
She was born December 22, 1930 in Jasper to John and Mary (Seger) Werner. Annetta married Oscar Mehling on October 23, 1948 in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper. He preceded her in death on August 27, 2010.
Annetta was a lifelong homemaker. She was a member of Mary Help of Christians Church and its Ladies Sodality. She enjoyed playing cards, quilting and being with her grandkids.
Annetta is survived by five sons, Nick (Kaye) Mehling and Bill (Laura) Mehling all of Mariah Hill, Tony (Jill) Mehling of Santa Claus, Tim Mehling of Huntingburg and Paul (Cecelia) Mehling of Newburgh; seven daughters, Elaine (John) Hopf of Jasper, Patty (Joe) Blankenberger, Sharon (Steve) Hasenour and Yvonne (Scott) Berg all of Ferdinand, Linda (Ernie) Keck of English, Marilyn (Rod) May of Haubstadt and Jean (Barry) Ledbetter of Blufton, SC.; daughter in-law, Karen Mehling of Evansville; thirty four grandchildren and thirty six great-grandchildren.
Annetta was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar; a son, Mark Mehling; grandson, Gregory Mehling; brothers, Roman, Joseph and Walter Werner; sisters, Martina Thewes and Helen and Catherine Werner.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM CT on Thursday, August 29th in Mary Help of Christians Church, Mariah Hill. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1-7:00 PM CT at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand and also on Thursday from 7-9:30 AM CT at the funeral home.
