Mary Ann Barkley, age 79, of Huntingburg, passed away at 9:33 pm, on Monday, August 5, 2019, at the Visiting Nurse Association of Northwest Indiana Hospice Center in Valparaiso, Indiana.

She was born June 18, 1940, in Jasper, Indiana, to Leo and Ella (Buechline) Young; and married Donald C. Barkley on November 8, 1958, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper. Mary Ann was a homemaker. She enjoyed taking care of her family including all of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a love for cooking; and enjoyed gardening, playing bingo, listening to music, and watching Westerns. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Don Barkley, who died on March 28, 2016; her mother and father; two brothers, Larry Young and Thomas Young; by five grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She is survived by seven daughters, Dee (Dan) Hochgesang of Huntingburg, Rev. Becky (Neal) Smith of Huntingburg, Judy (Mike) Fawks of Jasper, Rose Barkley of Jasper, Sandra (companion, Steve Scherle) Blessinger of Jasper, Candace (Tom) Kimes of Valparaiso, and Daphne (companion, Bryan Brown) Barkley of Evansville; six sons, Ed (Penny) Barkley of Holland, Paul (Carma) Barkley of Huntingburg, James (Carrie) Barkley of Huntingburg, Andy (Raquel) Barkley of Jasper, Donnie (Patty) Barkley of Huntingburg, and Al (Tammy) Barkley of Huntingburg; four sisters, Carol (Emil) Krodel of Jasper, Brenda (Don) Sander of Jasper, Aleeta Gray of Petersburg, and Donna Jahn of Venice, Florida; by (29) grandchildren, (33) great-grandchildren, and (3) great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mary Ann Barkley will be held at 10:00 a.m., E.D.T., on Saturday, August 10, 2019, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00-8:00 p.m., on Friday, August 9th. A prayer vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Condolences may be shared online at www.nassandson.com
