The Dubois County Commissioners and the Dubois County Fire Chief have made an amendment for the county burn ban.

According to a press release from the Emergency Management Director, Tammy Humbert, this amendment allows: “Campfires and all recreational fires that are continuously accompanied and enclosed in a fire ring with dimensions of 23 inches in diameter and X 10 inches high or taller.”

However, any kind of open burning using conventional like wood or other combustible matter, except for grills fueled by charcoal briquettes or propane, burning debris, and bonfires are still prohibited.
