A three-car accident near Blimpie’s in Jasper yesterday ending up in over $10,000 in damages and two on the way to the hospital.

Around 5:15pm yesterday afternoon, 69 year old Shirley Holsworth of Jasper was driving north in their 2013 Buick Enclave on US Highway 231 crossing State Road 162. At that point, 48-year-old Michael Lemond of Birdseye was in the southbound lane of US Highway 231 in their 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid, waiting to make a left turn on State Road 162.

As Holsworth crossed the intersection of State Road 162, Lemond made a left turn onto State Road 162 in front of Holsworth. Holsworth’s Enclave hit Lemond’s C-Max Hybrid on the passenger side. The Enclave was then pushed into another lane of traffic, hitting the 2012 Toyota Camry of 35-year-old Stephanie Brown of Jasper. Brown was stopped in traffic facing west on State Road 162.

Lemond complained of neck and hip pain and was taken to Memorial Hospital for treatment. Holsworth was taken to Memorial Hospital by a family member after refusing treatment from Memorial EMS. Holsworth’s Enclave received about $5,000 in damages, Lemond’s C-Max Hybrid received about $5,000 in damages, and Brown’s Camry received about $500 in damages.
