Charles J. Durcholz, age 88, of Ireland, Indiana, passed away at 1:39 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, in Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana.
 
Charlie was born in Ireland, Indiana, on December 26, 1930, to Carl and Marie (Bleemel) Durcholz.  His first marriage was to Rita M. Rasche on October 27, 1951, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana, and she preceded him in death on August 8, 1983.  He then married Eugenia “Dolly” Prohaska in July 7, 1984, and she preceded him in death in March 15, 2003.
 
Charlie was a 1949 graduate of Ireland High School.
 
He was a farmer and a grain bin salesman.
 
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana, the Ireland K of C, and the Jasper Moose.
 
He enjoyed playing cards, riding motorcycles, and cooking.
 
Surviving are four children, Randal “Randy” (Sue) Durcholz, Duff, Indiana, Janice Durcholz, Petersburg, IN, Carol (Eugene) Schetter, Arlington, TX, and Sarah (Mark) Helms, Jasper, IN, ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren, four sisters, Rita (Art) Dall, Jasper, IN, JoAnn Lechner, Jasper, IN, Ruth (Alan) Small, Ireland, IN, Dottie (Ron) Mack, Indianapolis, IN, one brother, Ed (Mary) Durcholz, Ireland, IN,
 
Preceding him in death are one son, Kenneth “Kenny” Durcholz, three sisters, MaryLou Lechner, Rosie Cole,  and Angeline Schwoeppe, and two brothers, Cletus and Rich Durcholz.
 
A Mass of Christian Burial for Charles J. Durcholz will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2019, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
 
A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at the church on Thursday.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jasper River Walk Memorial for Charlie.
