Ruth Ann Meyer, age 60, of Boone Township, Indiana, passed away at 6:35 p.m. on Friday, October 16, 2020, as the result of an accident.

 

Ruth was born in Huntingburg, Indiana, on June 11, 1960, to Irwin and Rita (Begle) Hoffman.  She married Kent Meyer on April 7, 1979, in St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana.  He preceded her in death on June 1, 2017.

Ruth was a 1978 graduate of Jasper High School.

She was an administrative assistant for the City of Jasper for over 25 years.  She was also a lifetime farmer with her husband, Kent.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana, St. Ann’s Society, and a past member of the Jasper German Club.

Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, creating pottery, working outdoors, and she had a love for animals.

Surviving are one son, Bart K. Meyer, Jasper, IN, one daughter, Holly (Scott) Reckelhoff, Jasper, IN, six grandchildren, four sisters, Karen (Tony) Hochgesang, Hilton Head, SC, Marcia (Randy) Lindauer, Jasper, IN, Janet Reed, Lowell, IN, Donna (Alan) Dafoe, Bloomington, IN, three brothers, Jim (Jeanne) Hoffman, Jasper, IN, John (Karen) Hoffman, Duff, IN, Tom (Kim) Hoffman, Duff, IN.

Preceding her in death besides her husband and parents are, one sister-in-law, Janet Hoffman, and one brother-in-law, Jim Reed.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Ruth Ann Meyer will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2020, in St. Mary Catholic Church in Ireland, Indiana, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

A visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana.  The St. Ann’s Society will pray a rosary at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family or to a favorite charity.
