A Huntingburg man was arrested in Spencer County after fleeing from police.

On Sunday, Officers with the Spencer County Sheriff’s Office attempted a traffic stop on a car driving on State Road 545.

The car didn’t stop and instead drove through Perry, Dubois, and Crawford Counties at rates over 100 mph.

The vehicle eventually lost control and drove into a ditch. Police were able to apprehend the driver, Tyler Eckert, without further incident.

Eckert is charged with Resisting Law Enforcement, Driving While Suspended with Prior, Criminal Recklessness, Reckless Driving, Criminal Mischief, and numerous traffic infractions.
